FINANCING AND BANKING SOLUTIONS

Crédit Agricole CIB’s teams support clients in their development in China as well as in their growth strategy internationally. In China, Crédit Agricole CIB has a strong track record in cross border advisory services, as well as in short and medium term financing in renminbi (RMB) and other currencies.

In China, Crédit Agricole CIB has a wealth of experience in trade, export, commodity finance, transaction banking, project finance and loan syndication. 

In addition to financing services, Crédit Agricole CIB in China is a leading debt capital markets and fixed income house, active in bond issuances, foreign exchange, rates and derivatives products. Among the first foreign banks licensed for Chinese currency trade operations, Crédit Agricole CIB is a key contributor to the RMB internationalisation, notably through its participation in the bond- and swap-connect programmes between Hong Kong and mainland China which facilitate trade with foreign investors.

The Bank also offers onshore strategic advisory capability on investment banking activities, particularly on cross-border merger and acquisition.

With the ambition to protect the climate and foster sustainable development, Crédit Agricole CIB China supports socially and environmentally responsible financings through a comprehensive advisory approach and innovative solutions. As a pioneer and leader in green and sustainable bonds, green loans and renewable finance, Crédit Agricole CIB assists clients in all stages of their energy transition and decarbonisation strategy, thanks to a dedicated regional team of sustainable investment banking experts. In China, we notably rank among the top arrangers of sustainable bond issuances.

INTERNATIONAL SOLUTIONS FOR CRÉDIT AGRICOLE MID-CAP CLIENTS

The Crédit Agricole Group International Business Solutions Asia-Pacific team supports mid-cap corporate clients’ international operations in the region and notably in China, through expert advisory services on the local environment and access to a wide spectrum of banking services and tailored financing solutions across markets and sectors. In China, the team is based in Beijing.

History and organisation

Having served clients in mainland China for over 125 years, Crédit Agricole CIB’s history in the country dates back to 1898. Since then, Crédit Agricole CIB has firmly established itself as a leading foreign bank in China.

Crédit Agricole CIB in mainland China operates since 2009 through a local incorporation, its wholly-owned subsidiary, Credit Agricole CIB (China) Limited with five branches – Shanghai (headquarters), Beijing, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Xiamen – and a representative office in Shenzhen. Since 2023, Crédit Agricole CIB has bolstered its onshore investment banking advisory capability with the creation of its dedicated wholly foreign-owned enterprise (WFOE) - Credit Agricole (Beijing) Advisory Services Co., Ltd.

The local set-up comprises the Coverage & Investment Banking, Global Markets, International Trade & Transaction Banking, Corporate & Leverage Finance, and Financing & Client Services business lines.

In mainland China, the Crédit Agricole Group also offers asset management and specialised financial services through respectively, Amundi via the joint ventures with Agricultural Bank of China and Bank of China, and Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance via the joint venture with Guangzhou Automotive Group.
