History and organisation
Having served clients in South Korea for nearly a half-century, Crédit Agricole CIB’s history in the country dates back to 1974, as the first French bank and one of the pioneering foreign banks to open a full-fledged commercial banking branch. Since then, Crédit Agricole CIB has firmly established itself as a leading foreign bank in South Korea. In 2016, Crédit Agricole CIB expanded further its Korean franchise with the launch of its securities arm, Crédit Agricole Securities (Asia) Limited.
Crédit Agricole CIB operates both its banking and securities entities from Seoul. The local set-up comprises the Coverage, Global Markets, International Trade & Transaction Banking, and Financing & Client Services business lines.
In South Korea, the Crédit Agricole Group also offers asset management services through NH Amundi, the joint venture between Amundi and the Nonghyup Financial Group (NHFG).
“Present in South Korea since 1974, Crédit Agricole CIB is one of oldest foreign banks in the country. Through its banking and securities branches, our platform covers the financial needs of corporate and institutional clients, both Korean and international. Our Bank is particularly recognised for its cross-border capabilities – trade, investment and access to capital markets – and is also one of the market leaders in sustainable banking.”
