Financing and banking solutions

Crédit Agricole CIB’s teams accompany clients in their development in Japan as well as their growth strategy internationally. We support the needs of our Japanese clients through leveraging the Bank’s extensive network as well as through three dedicated Japan desks, located in New York, London and Paris, which cover their branches based in the American and European markets

In Japan, Crédit Agricole CIB has a strong track record in cross border advisory services, as well as in short and medium term financing in Japanese yen (JPY) and other currencies.

The Bank is a major player in the fields of project, export and trade finance, supporting large local and global corporates in their investments and projects overseas, often working closely with Japanese Export Credit Agencies. Our local franchise has also a wealth of experience in real assets financings, notably in the aviation and real estate sectors.

In addition to financing services, the Bank provides investments solutions and portfolio diversification to investors. As a well-established foreign bank, Crédit Agricole CIB is a leading house in global markets solutions relying on a solid platform active in flow products, derivatives and hedging solutions both in JPY and foreign currencies, and in debt capital markets. In particular, we are a Primary Dealer of Japanese Government Bonds (JGBs) and a member of the Japan Securities Clearing Corporation for JPY Interest Rate Swaps (IRS).

The Crédit Agricole Group’s International Business Solutions Asia-Pacific team supports mid-cap corporate clients’ international operations in the region and notably in Japan, through expert advisory services on the local environment and access to a wide spectrum of banking services and tailored financing solutions, particularly opening accounts. Based in Tokyo, the team draws on the Group’s business units and on large local banking group partners.

History and organisation

Crédit Agricole CIB’s history in the country dates back to 1946. Since then, Crédit Agricole CIB has firmly established itself as a leading foreign bank in Japan.

Crédit Agricole CIB in Japan operates under both a banking and a securities licenses through two distinctive entities with offices in Tokyo. The local set-up comprises the Coverage & Investment Banking, Global Markets, Energy & Real Assets, International Trade & Transaction Banking, Corporate & Leverage Finance, Distribution & Asset Rotation, and Financing & Client Services business lines.

In Japan, the Crédit Agricole Group also offers asset management services and insurance solutions through Amundi and Crédit Agricole Life Insurance, respectively.
