Green Lion 2023 -1 Green RMBS

Green Lion 2023-1 RMBS (EUR 850 mio) is a Dutch residential RMBS backed by owner-occupied mortgages for energy-efficient homes in the Netherlands.

This is ING's first step into the green securitisation market and offers sustainable investment opportunities to investors.

The transaction structure meets ICMA Green Bond Principles as a Secured Green Collateral Bond, and the proceeds of the issuance will be exclusively applied to (re)finance mortgages that meet, among other things, the Green Eligibility Criteria. Green Lion 2023-1 sets the new benchmark for Green RMBS as the first transaction to identify the path towards EU Taxonomy alignment for RMBS collateral.

Green Lion 2023-1 also marks one of the largest European RMBS transactions of the year.

We are immensely proud to have accompanied ING Bank as joint-lead manager on their green-standard setting Green Lion residential mortgage securitisation and their come-back to the RMBS market. The Global Capital Securitization Awards are crowning the bank’s excellence and recognition in securitisation and in ESG finance.
