Crédit Agricole CIB today announced the appointment of Laurent Potin as Chief Executive Officer for Taipei Branch with immediate effect.

Crédit Agricole CIB today announced the appointment of Laurent Potin as Chief Executive Officer for Taipei Branch with immediate effect. Based in Taipei, Laurent reports to Jean-François Deroche, Senior Regional Officer for Asia-Pacific at Crédit Agricole CIB.

In his new role, Laurent will oversee all operations and business activities in Taiwan, and continue to drive the development of the franchise and deepen client relationships.

Having served clients in Taiwan for over 40 years, Crédit Agricole CIB’s local history dates back to 1981, with the establishment of a representative office. It was one of the first foreign banks to enter the Taiwanese market. Since obtaining a full banking license in 1984, Crédit Agricole CIB has firmly established itself as a leading foreign bank in Taiwan, particularly active in the renewable energy, technology and financial institutions segments.

Biography

After starting his career in the audit and consulting industry, Laurent Potin joined the Crédit Agricole Group in France in 1999 within the Internal Audit teams dedicated to capital markets activities. In 2004, he was appointed Head of Structured Euro Medium-Term Note desk within the Global Markets Division, and relocated to Tokyo in 2007 to become Regional Chief Operating Officer for Interest Rates Derivatives activities in Asia. Laurent was most recently Head of Business Development and Chief Operating Officer of the Global Markets Division in Japan.
