On 17 June 2021, the Debt Optimisation and Distribution team’s Credit Risk Insurance platform hosted its 5th Annual Credit Risk Insurance Seminar virtually with about 300 attendees.

Opened by Jamie Mabilat, Global Head of Debt Optimisation and Distribution, and Xavier Fessart, Global Head of Loan, Credit Risk Insurance (CRI) and High-Yield Bond Distribution, our Bank's 5th Annual Credit Risk Insurance Seminar was comprised of 5 presentations each of which was moderated by a member of the CRI team covering the following sectors:

  • Oil & Gas – Nicolas Chapin, Global Head of Oil & Gas
  • Power – Thomas Ragot, Head of Power & Utilities EMEA and Derek Rushgrove, Managing Director Power & Utilities EMEA
  • Telecoms – Bruno Pezy, Head of Europe & Africa, Global TMT Group
  • Real Estate – Franck Genet, Global Head of Real Estate & Lodging
  • Receivable and Supply Chain Finance – Ugur Bitiren, Global Head of Origination, Receivable and Payable Financing and Mona Ghazzaoui, Head of Receivable and Payable Financing Americas

The seminar was an opportunity for Crédit Agricole CIB to update the credit risk insurance community about how the loan markets performed at the height of the Covid-19 crisis, how the markets are performing now, and what the predictions are for financing opportunities over the next 12-18 months. Most importantly it provided an insight into Crédit Agricole CIB’s performance during these turbulent times, as well as highlighting the Bank’s support for its clients and society during an unprecedented crisis.

The event highlighted Crédit Agricole CIB’s ESG credentials with numerous examples of innovative market-leading initiatives such as green and sustainability linked loans and bonds Will open in a new tab , increasing the percentage of “green” assets, and incorporating the energy transition into the customer relationship which put Crédit Agricole CIB at the forefront of sustainable financing.

A distribution channel that started with a few players in project and trade finance 5 years ago now covers pretty much all asset classes and 1/6th of our institutional distribution. CRI has also been a very important risk management tool in managing syndications at a time of volatility in our markets.”

The feedback from participants has been amazing and this seminar has given us an unparalleled access to the insurance community. The Bank’s commitment to our clients, our partnership approach with insurers, and our ability to pull together during the crisis have all been crucial to the success of the CRI platform.”
