European banks — the regulatory angle: EBA, ECB & SRB on supervisory priorities
Bank+Insurance Hybrid Capital published its latest briefing on our annual regulatory event held last December where members of the EBA, ECB & SRB shared insights into the 2022 supervisory priorities.
Crédit Agricole CIB hosted a web conference on the theme “European Banks: the regulatory angle” in December 2021, with delegates hearing from European Central Bank Supervisory Board member Edouard Fernandez-Bollo, Sebastiano Laviola, Director of Strategy and Policy Coordination and Board member at the Single Resolution Board, and Isabelle Vaillant, Director of Prudential Regulation and Supervisory Policy at the European Banking Authority.
Edouard Fernandez-Bollo and Isabelle Vaillant delivered an endorsement of the European banking system’s resilience, and outlined work to be done to tackle issues such as Basel III, profitability and “emerging” climate and cyber risks. Sebastiano Laviola meanwhile highlighted priorities including minimum ratio of eligible liabilities (MREL), separability for transfer strategies and sources of resolution funding.
