Supporting the green energy transition in Scotland!
On Tuesday, 26 August, SSE plc returned to the EUR market for the third time this year via the Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission PLC issuing entity, which is part of the Scottish & Southern Electricity Network (SSEN) Transmission business, with a EUR 750m Long 8-year Senior unsecured green bond.
The proceeds will finance or refinance critical infrastructure, including upgrades across the north of Scotland’s electricity network as part of SSE’s £22 billion-plus investment programme—supporting the UK’s 2030 net-zero targets.
This deal marks SSEN Transmission’s second EUR-bond issuance and the tenth green bond by the SSE Group in eight years, and reaffirms its status as the UK’s largest corporate issuer of green bonds.
Crédit Agricole CIB acted as joint bookrunner.
