Patrick de Talancé appointed as Senior Country Officer for Australia

Crédit Agricole CIB annonce aujourd'hui la nomination de Patrick de Talancé au poste de Senior Country Officer pour l'Australie. Il succède à Don Parsonage.

Patrick de Talancé is appointed as Senior Country Officer for Australia. He succeeds Don Parsonage, who is retiring after 35 years of service to the Bank.

Leveraging the full Australian banking licence the Bank acquired last year, Patrick will continue to expand the Bank’s activities in Australia with a focus on transforming the well-established real asset financing platform into a fully-fledged corporate and investment banking set-up. Based in Sydney, he reports to Jean-François Deroche, Senior Regional Officer for Asia-Pacific at Crédit Agricole CIB.

"Australia promises considerable development potential for Crédit Agricole CIB in Asia-Pacific thanks to the licence which allows us to deploy a full client-centric business model in the country supported by both local and global expertise through our international network. Patrick’s abundant experience and expertise gained across the Crédit Agricole Group will be pivotal in executing this ambitious growth strategy,”

Jean-François Deroche

Having served clients in Australia for over a half-century, Crédit Agricole CIB’s history in the country dates back to the early 1970s, and has been actively participating in the local banking and financing markets. Today, the Bank has established itself as a leading foreign bank in Australia, particularly in real estate, energy and infrastructure financing as well as acquisition finance. In January 2022, Crédit Agricole CIB obtained a full banking license to expand its product offering and capabilities, with the goal to further support its local and international clients on their needs through financing, hedging and investment solutions and advisory services.

Patrick de Talancé joined Crédit Agricole Group’s legacy company Crédit Lyonnais in 1998 where he held various positions covering telecom clients. In 2008, he relocated to Hong Kong and was appointed Managing Director for Media and Tech for Crédit Agricole CIB Asia. He then moved to Houston to take up the role of Head of Energy North Americas in 2016. In 2020, he relocated to New York for his current role as Chief Risk Officer for Americas for Crédit Agricole CIB and the Crédit Agricole Group.
