Georg Orssich is appointed Senior Regional Officer for Europe (excluding France), effective 1st September 2021. Based in Madrid, he will also hold the position of Senior Country Officer for Iberia.

Georg Orssich is a highly experienced senior executive and leader in international corporate and investment banking. Until recently, he ran Santander Group’s global investment banking and corporate finance business for the Santander Group and during a decade of leadership he diversified the bank’s client base across all major markets and grew the division’s revenues and profits threefold.

He will report to Jacques Ripoll, Chief Executive Officer of Crédit Agricole CIB, and will become a member of the Executive Committee of the Bank.

Photo of Georg OrssichGeorg Orssich started his career in market activities in Spain in 1988 and then joined the Santander Group in 1990 in the capital markets division. He moved to Santander Investment Securities in New York in 1995, initially working in equities but later as Head of Corporate Finance (ECM and M&A) for Latin America in 1998. In 2001, he returned to Spain as Head of Corporate Finance for Europe, and in 2009 he became Head of Corporate and Investment Banking for Europe. In 2010, he was appointed to lead the entire business line as Global Head of Banking & Corporate Finance until January 2021, when he became a Senior Advisor for the Santander Group.

Georg Orssich is an undergraduate at Vienna University in Business Administration and hold an executive programme from Stanford University.
