Crédit Agricole CIB strengthens its presence in Brazil with a €200 million capital increase in its Brazilian subsidiary, Banco Crédit Agricole Brasil
Crédit Agricole CIB (“the Bank”) announced a €200 million capital increase in its Brazilian subsidiary, Banco Crédit Agricole Brasil S.A. (BCAB), reinforcing the Bank’s long-term commitment to Brazil and supporting the development of its onshore capabilities in one of Latin America’s most dynamic markets.
The capital injection enables BCAB to participate in larger transactions in local currency and expand its role in the Brazilian financial ecosystem.
Historically focused on offshore origination, BCAB is progressively evolving toward a hybrid model combining offshore expertise with enhanced onshore capabilities. This strategic investment marks a new phase of development for the Bank in Brazil, supporting the expansion of its franchise, strengthening its ability to serve both multinational clients and large Brazilian corporates and further diversify its client base.
This capital increase illustrates Crédit Agricole CIB’s ambition in Brazil and strengthens our capacity to accompany international and local clients in a key market for the Group. It supports the continued expansion of our franchise in the region.
