Crédit Agricole CIB is honoured with 8 capital market awards at the CMD Portal Awards 2021

Crédit Agricole CIB’s innovative approach and experience across the globe has enabled our teams to support our clients throughout 2020, with the market turbulence further highlighting the value our Bank can offer in navigating the global capital markets.

On January 12, 2021, the Collaborative Market Data (CMD) Portal Will open in a new tab , a London based FinTech managing a data driven collaborative network of over 35,000 registered bond market professionals, recognised our Bank’s experience & expertise in these markets with 8 awards: Best NEU CP Dealer, Best Corporate CP Dealer, Best CNY CPCD Dealer, Best FIG PP Dealer, Best ESG SSA Dealer, Best SSA EUR Dealer, Best Uridashi Dealer and Best ABCP Issuer (LMA S.A.). We were also a runner up for the Best Panda/Dim Sum Dealer award.

Our extensive understanding of the short-term markets enabled us to help our clients fulfil their funding objectives despite the market volatility seen in 2020. We adapted quickly to the changes seen in 2020, spotting early the change in market landscape and positioning the franchise around those flows. This was reflected in the NEU CP space, where we continued to retain our 100% dealership coverage on the Corporate NEU CP segment, and also mirrored this success with Public sector borrowers. This spectrum of coverage, together with significant volume of trades and league table advances, all helped contribute to us being named the Best NEU CP Dealer and Best Corporate CP Dealer this year.

In the CNY Commercial Paper/Certificate of Deposit market, Crédit Agricole CIB showed leadership in originating and distributing short-term papers globally in CNY. Our strong swap and FX capabilities, combined with our leading CNY international ECP and top tier domestic HK CD franchise, ensured we could provide frequent market access to all our global issuers. We highlighted our value during the first half of 2020, when many term markets were less frequently open and the short-term markets picked up significant volumes, helping to earn Crédit Agricole CIB the Best CNY CPCD Dealer award. 

Our Best FIG PP Dealer reflects the global coverage and access we provide to our FIG issuer base. Whilst ensuring we provide the full spectrum of funding tools to our issuers, whatever the prevailing market conditions, we have continued to lead the evolution and innovation in the FIG space. This was well demonstrated in 2020 as we brought Rabobank in AUD for their debut senior non-preferred private placement, which lead many of the Chinese banks back into the term space in Q2 and delivered National Bank of Canada the largest EUR-denominated Equity-linked trade of the year. It’s this tireless focus on serving our clients and the persistant pursuit of innovation that helped earn us the Best FIG Private Placement award.

This is no better demonstrated than by the broad range of award recognition as well as the record volumes we have raised across the MTNs, Private Placements & Commercial Paper markets in 2020.’

Crédit Agricole CIB has led the ESG market for some years, providing a full service to all types of issuers and investors, actively supporting SSA clients, internationally, and leading the SSA ESG league tables. 

In 2020, Crédit Agricole CIB participated in nearly 100 SSA ESG Financings in 8 currencies, placing the African Development Bank’s (AfDB) IDR30mn 3-year offering, in such high demand, it was one of the largest Uridashi ESG offerings, awarding us the awards for Best SSA ESG Dealer and Best Uridashi Dealer.

Crédit Agricole CIB listed among their private placement clients, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), as well as various diverse departments across France, earning the award for Best EUR SSA Dealer. Notably also placing in an impressive diverse array of currencies.

LMA S.A. is the European Asset-Backed Commercial Paper (ABCP) multi-seller conduit sponsored and managed by Crédit Agricole CIB. It is rated A1/P1/F1 and issues ABCP in Europe and the USA.

With €16.6bn ABCP issued as of December 31, 2020, LMA S.A. is one of the largest issuer of ABCP worldwide. LMA S.A. has supported successfully the working capital funding of more than 100 Crédit Agricole CIB clients during Covid-19 market tensions in March/April 2020. It has also issued the first ever Green ABCPs in Europe in October 2020.
