Crédit Agricole CIB renews a successful mandate with Iberdrola
In March 2011, Crédit Agricole CIB acted as joint bookrunner for Iberdrola’s EUR 750 million bond issue. The other banks were Barclays, JP Morgan, Lloyds, RBS and Santander.
This transaction due to mature in 2017 is the second senior unsecured issue run by Crédit Agricole CIB for Iberdrola, after a 10 year-issue launched in September 2010.
This issue was approximately five times oversubscribed, drawing orders of EUR 4.2 billion, and was placed among over 300 investors from 30 different countries in record time. The transaction demonstrates the ongoing international demand for Iberdrola’s securities, with 90% sold to non-domestic investors. Over 60% of the orders came from France, the United Kingdom and Germany.
Iberdrola is one of the leading Spanish private electric utilities and the largest wind energy operator in the world. Its operations include generation, transmission, distribution and marketing of electricity and natural gas.
