Crédit Agricole CIB plays a major role in France Telecom's refinancing strategy
On 31 March, 2010, alongside Deutsche Bank and Société Générale CIB, Crédit Agricole CIB acted as the lead bank for a 10-year EUR 1 billion bond issue on behalf of France Telecom. The order book quickly reached a total of EUR 2.6 billion.
After a year’s absence from the euro-denominated bond market, France Telecom launched this issue in order to benefit from excellent market conditions that notably took the form of historically low interest rates. The launch also benefited from investors’ appetite for long-term issues.
This issue fits in fully with France Telecom’s active refinancing strategy that involves anticipating the maturity of its debt.
