In January 2010, Crédit Agricole CIB was joint bookrunner in Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH benchmark bond issue of EUR 500 million. The issue has a seven-year maturity.

 

BayernLB, HeLaBa, LBBW and UniCredit were the other joint bookrunners of the transaction.

 

This transaction marks the second very successful visit to international debt capital markets by Haniel during the last six months and was oversubscribed seven times. Haniel will use the proceeds of the bond to decrease bank liabilities and to improve its maturity debt profile.

 

Haniel is an international trading and services Group made up of four corporate divisions: Celesio, CWS-boco, ELG and TAKKT. These operate independently from one another on the market and have some 50,000 employees in almost 40 countries.
