Crédit Agricole CIB assists the Kingdom of Belgium in the bond market
Crédit Agricole CIB acted as bookrunner, alongside three other banks, for the first benchmark issue of the Kingdom of Belgium in 2010. The EUR 5 billion 10-year issue bears a coupon of 3.75%.
The order book went as high as EUR 8 billion and attracted 195 investors. Majority of them were funds (33.2%), insurance and pensions (24%), banks (22.8%) and central banks (5%). France was the leading subscriber followed by the United Kingdom, Belgium and Germany.
The Kingdom of Belgium succeeded in profiting from favorable market conditions. It also benefited from investor appetite on the primary market in the face of a significant volume of long-term issues by SSA counterparts since early 2010.
