Crédit Agricole CIB arranges the financing of the Sibur Tobolsk Polymer project in Russia
On July 2, 2010, Crédit Agricole CIB signed with Vnesheconombank and a club of banks the second financing tranche in the form of a SACE (Italy export credit agency) facility agreement for the amount of USD 686.2 million. The aim of the SACE 13-year facility agreement is to finance a contract between OOO "Tobolsk-Polymer" and Tecnimont SpA (Maire Tecnimont group), Italy (equipment supplier). This facility was realised within the scope of a common terms agreement signed in January 2010.
The club of banks comprises Crédit Agricole CIB, Deutsche Bank AG (initial mandated lead arranger, Euler Hermes and SACE facility agent), Intesa Sanpaolo SpA, ING Commercial Banking, Société Générale CIB (initial mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners), KfW IPEX-Bank Gmbh and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Europe Limited (mandated lead arrangers).
This SACE tranche represents the largest SACE supported facility ever finalised for Vnesheconombank. It complements the first financing tranche in the form of an Euler Hermes (German export credit agency) facility agreement for the amount of USD 533.8 million signed on January 22, 2010. This 13-year facility is the largest Euler Hermes covered bank-to-bank loan globally. Its aim is to finance a contract between OOO "Tobolsk Polymer" and Linde-KCA-Dresden GmbH, Germany (equipment supplier).
Furthermore, two commercial loan facilities were also signed for the total amount of USD 221 million. They aimed at financing local expenses under the project.
Crédit Agricole CIB acted as mandated lead arranger, bookrunner, global coordinator and documentation agent of ECA backed loan agreements for USD 1.2 billion and commercial loan facilities for USD 221 million.
The total amount of USD 1.441 billion will be used for the financing of the construction of a polypropylene production complex in Tobolsk, Tyumen region, Russia. The project will be executed by OOO "Tobolsk-Polymer" and is sponsored by Sibur Holding.
