Calyon acted as mandated lead arranger, bookrunner, and administrative agent for the credit facility and as a senior co-lead manager for the senior bond facility to support the Bridgepoint Hospital project sponsored by Plenary Group and Innisfree. The approximate 4-year credit facility was closed on a EUR 42.5 million commitment to a EUR 111.9 million. The approximate 34-year senior bond facility amounted to EUR 164.8 million.

The transaction is the first Canadian social infrastructure financing for Calyon. It was led by Calyon’s Natural resources, Infrastructure and Power teams in New York.

The project involves design, construction, finance and operation of a 472-bed public hospital in Toronto pursuant to a 30-year plus construction term concession agreement with Bridgepoint Hospital. The new facility, which will replace the existing aging hospital, has been designed with environmentally responsible and sustainable features, and is specifically for patients with complex chronic disease (multiple lifelong illnesses). Construction of the new hospital will be completed in early 2013 and patients will move in the spring of 2013.
