Calyon acted as bookrunner and joint lead manager in a EUR 1.75 billion 15-year senior bond issue for the Generali Group.

 

This transaction is the biggest bond issue single tranche for Generali ever. It is also the largest operation among all financial institutions in 2009 in Italy. This issue is aimed to finance the debt of the group.

 

The operation was a success. It is a demonstration of the close relationships between the Italian insurance company’s top management and Calyon. It also illustrates the Bank’s strong skills in the debt and credit markets origination and execution.
