Calyon joint bookrunner of a benchmark bond for Deutsche Bahn
On September 11, 2009, Calyon acted as joint bookrunner for Deutsche Bahn Finance B.V. The company issued a EUR 600 million bond with a 12-year maturity. The bond is guaranteed by Deutsche Bahn AG.
Deutsche Bahn took advantage of the favourable market conditions in order to refinance maturing debt and raise funds for general corporate purposes.
Calyon, Commerzbank, Royal Bank of Scotland as well as Société Général acted as the joint bookrunners on this bond.
With some 240,000 employees, Deutsche Bahn is one of Germany's largest employers. Privatised in 1994, it has meanwhile become a leading international transport and logistics services provider.
