Calyon, financial advisor to Vivendi in its acquisition of Brazil's Global Village Telecom
Calyon acted as financial advisor to Vivendi in its acquisition of Brazilian operator Global Village Telecom (GVT). Vivendi acquired 37.9% of GVT as well as irrevocable options to buy an additional 19.6% of GVT’s shares.
This transaction is in line with Vivendi’s strategic objective to increase its exposure to fast-growing economies.
For several years, Calyon and Vivendi have been involved in an intense strategic dialogue on opportunities to buy telecom assets in high-growth regions.
“Calyon is one of Vivendi’s mainstay banks, and we have developed a close relationship in all of our business lines, from financing to mergers and acquisitions,” comments Bertrand Sauzey, Senior Banker.
