Export & Trade Finance rewarded by Trade Finance Magazine and Global Trade Review

Ten transactions involving Crédit Agricole CIB’s Export & Trade Finance teams were named « Deals of the Year 2009 » by Trade Finance Magazine and Global Trade Review, two specialised magazines.
 
Crédit Agricole CIB acted as the global coordinator or agent for an export credit tranche in the following transactions:
  • overall export financing of EUR 415 million arranged for Mosenergo, a Gazprom subsidiary, for a Siemens contract,
  • an export loan of USD 1.12 billion supplied by the U.S. Ex-Im bank and EDC to finance the acquisition by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) of 23 turbines supplied by GE,
  • two Swedish buyer credits (for deliveries by Ericsson) totalling USD 360 million for Turkcell for which Crédit Agricole CIB also acted as the facilities agent and global coordinator,
  • a series of export loans totalling USD 1 billion for MTS (Russia). The first loan is guaranteed by the Swedish export credit agency, EKN, and is intended for financing the delivery of telecommunications equipment by Ericsson,
  • a first Korean export financing deal concerning the Vietnamese company An Hoa Paper JSC, guaranteed by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for an overall amount of USD 166 million. The supplier is Samsung,
  • a series of Italian, German and French buyer credits in favor of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) for a total amount of USD 1 billion.
 
The four other deals for which Crédit Agricole CIB acted as the mandated lead arranger were Petrovietnam (Vietnam), Eurocopter (Brazil), Embratel (Brazil) and Eskom (South Africa)
 
This solid positioning was rounded out with the awarding of first place in the Trade Finance league tables.
