Calyon hosts clients for a celebration of the Salon du Bourget's centennial
On June 16, Calyon entertained its large aviation sector clients at the Jacquemart-André Museum in central Paris. With magnificent weather providing the ideal backdrop for the evening’s festivities, the 300 attendees enjoyed touring the museum and visiting its interior courtyard, where conversation, cocktails and choice dishes awaited. Highly experienced guides opened guests’ eyes to the exhibition of 19th-century Italian primitives as well as the dazzling private collection of works of art.
The event, graced by the presence of Calyon CEO Patrick Valroff, was organized by the aircraft and rail finance teams. It provided an opportunity for advisory bankers, structured finance bankers and capital markets teams to invite their clients in conjunction with the traditional Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, which celebrated its centennial this year.

In 2007, 300 clients had the rare privilege of celebrating on the roof of the Arc de Triomphe. The 2005 event was held at the Louvre Museum with a “Da Vinci Code” theme. Because the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget alternates with the Farnborough Airshow in England, the next date for Le Bourget will be in 2011.
This event helps the Bank to strengthen client relationships, and it also showcases Calyon’s expertise and leadership in aircraft finance, where it regularly takes top honors globally. Some 120 mandates have been signed since January 1.
“I am delighted to have had this splendid opportunity to talk and interact informally with our clients. I know that they appreciated the serene atmosphere and the quality of the reception. Many of them also enjoyed making new contacts,” commented José Abramovici, Global Head of the Aviation & Rail Finance Group.
