Why did you choose to do your internship at Calyon?
I wanted to do my internship in a globally renowned corporate and investment bank. I did some interviews, and the deciding factor to choose Calyon was its interviewers’ human and technical qualities, as apparent in the hiring meetings.

How was your integration inside your department?
My integration particularly well took place; my colleagues were very accommodating from the outset and didn’t hesitate to give me responsibilities from the start. We have lunch together very frequently and extra-professional activities are organised with the trading room staff.
What are your daily responsibilities?
My main responsibilities are pricing currency options and setting up complex strategies to meet clients’ needs, as well as booking, which consists of post-trade deal follow-up. I’m also handling two specific projects: one to improve a database and the other to improve a price quote interface. This internship has allowed me to discover the world of financial markets and to gain real experience of the structuring business.
What do you appreciate most at Calyon?
The trust you get as an intern: I really feel part of the team. The internship has offered me genuine trading room experience, something valued highly at both Calyon and other banks.
