Prior to working at Calyon, I worked in Moscow in corporate finance. I also had two internships here in New York while going to NYU Stern Undergrad. Calyon is where I had my start working in the front office of capital markets. I am currently an associate in the Interest Rate Derivatives sales team, which allows me to interface with many businesses in the Bank such as credit, trading, banking, syndication, etc.

As a sales associate I help my team meet the client’s needs by helping come up with interest rate hedging ideas based on each client’s individual balance sheet, as well as pricing individual client’s requests. Sales serve as the interface of the Bank to their clients. To be successful in this role, I have to be able to communicate effectively with various departments, and make sure the experience of trading with the Bank runs smoothly for the client.

This level of exposure to the Bank as well as the high ratio of senior to junior staff is what attracted me to Calyon in the first place. The opportunities for learning, both in broad knowledge and in the specifics of your specialty, are vast and easily accessible.
