Sébastien joined Calyon’s Fixed-Income Markets department in 2001, and was relocated to Hong Kong in 2006. He heads the global team in charge macro research and strategy for Emerging Markets, and directly covers Asia ex-Japan markets.

He was appointed Head of Emerging Market Research and Strategy in 2009 and was previously Senior Economist/Strategist – Asia.

He is in charge of setting up economic scenarios and formulating FX and FI strategies on these markets. He is also strongly involved in relationships with the Bank’s clients and in marketing the Bank’s global economic and market views with the media.

Prior to 2001, Sébastien worked four years as a country risk analyst for BNP Paribas. He began his career working for the French government and for the Central Bank of Russia in Moscow, where he coordinated a team of economists during three years. 

Sébastien has over 14 years experience as an economist and strategist working more specifically on Emerging Markets.

Sébastien holds a M-Ph in Economics and Finance as well as a M-Ph in Philosophy, both from the University of Paris.
