Magalie Taccola: "The VIE program at Crédit Agricole CIB is a challenging experience"
Magalie Taccola, Relationship Officer at the International Client Coverage department (Coverage & Investment Banking) in Frankfurt, shares her VIE experience and provides some advice to applicants.
What have been your studies and professional experiences until now?
Can you describe your main responsibilities?
I work across products and geographies in the International Client Coverage department. My mission is to support the Senior Banker in further developing business with all German corporate clients of his portfolio (mostly DAXThe leading German index of equity prices based on the 30 most heavily traded stocks on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. DAX is Deutsche Aktienindex's acronym. companies and their subsidiaries). My responsibilities include:
- day-to-day relationship management: close contact with clients, follow-up on transactions and projects, liaising with Crédit Agricole CIB business lines and entities worldwide,
- business development together with the Senior Banker and business lines: conducting various analyses, participating in the development process of designing tailor-made solutions, preparing pitches and taking part in meetings with clients,
- profitability calculations,
- coordination with Credit, Legal and Operations departments.
What does this international experience bring you professionally and personally?
As a Relationship Officer, I am constantly interacting with dynamic and high-talented colleagues from many of our offices worldwide. I regularly attend clients meetings at management level.
What would be your message to Crédit Agricole CIB's applicants for a VIE?
I am given the opportunity to further develop and to grow. As a VIE, I am the “junior member” within my team. Experienced bankers invest a lot of time in my professional development and give me a great amount of responsibility. It is not uncommon that I am being asked to interact independently and directly with the client.
