Furthermore the existing relationships that the local teams have developed with local banks allow Crédit Agricole CIB to:

  • advise and confirm letters of credit,
  • assist the exporters in the issuance of guarantees such as bid bonds, money retention bonds, etc…,
  • open local bank accounts and establish credit lines in local currency.

History and organisation

Crédit Agricole CIB has developed its expertise in Libya by visiting regularly the country since 1992. It was the first foreign bank to establish a representative office in Tripoli three years ago, in 2006. Since then, Crédit Agricole CIB has maintained and developed relationships with Libya’s major public and private sector companies, financial institutions (banks and funds) and multinational corporates.
