Active for 30 years in shipping finance, Crédit Agricole CIB ranks amongst the top leaders on the world market. The Bank finances a modern and diversified fleet of over 1,150 ships for an international customer base of ship-owners. Its portfolio totals EUR 10.2 billion at the end of 2008.
Crédit Agricole CIB finances a broad variety of new and second hand ships: very diverse cargoes (bulk carriers, oil and gas tankers, containerships, ro-ro ships…), passenger ships (liners, ferries), ships and oil rigs for the offshore oil industry.
In 2008, Crédit Agricole CIB continued to develop its activity in a highly competitive environment, closing 86 new deals, of which 90% as arranger or sole lender, for a total volume arranged of USD 4.75 billion and EUR 3 billion net final take.
